Ian is an occupational therapist with extensive experience working in both clinical and educational settings. He qualified from the University of Southampton in 2008 and currently works autonomously in the NHS as an extended scope practitioner in the Pulvertaft Hand Centre in Derby. He specialises in the assessment and treatment of upper limb injuries and conditions, such as tendon repairs, nerve injuries, fractures and common hand conditions such as arthritis, carpal tunnel and trigger finger. He can manufacture routine and bespoke splints and enjoys providing rehabilitation programmes for functional recovery. Ian prides himself on making decisions based on clinical knowledge and competencies which reflect evidence-based practice. He enjoys goal setting with patients and strives to educate them about their conditions, to help them better manage their health.
Ian is a dedicated professional who is committed to maintaining his clinical knowledge and competencies. He is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and is a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists and British Association of Hand Therapists.
