Kate is a highly experienced Occupational Therapist with a specialist focus in hand therapy.   With over 30 years of clinical practice, she brings advanced expertise in the assessment and rehabilitation of upper limb conditions, including trauma, elective surgery, and rheumatology-related hand issues.

Her approach combines clinical precision with a deep understanding of patient needs. Kate is skilled in fabricating bespoke static and dynamic splints, managing complex post-operative recovery, and delivering tailored rehabilitation programmes that support strength, mobility, and function.  Kate is experienced in joint protection, splinting, scar management, and oedema control, as well as in complex clinical reasoning and specialist report writing and is also involved in pre-operative clinics and patient education.

She has worked extensively in consultant-led clinics and multidisciplinary teams, collaborating closely with surgeons and physiotherapists to ensure the best outcomes for her patients.

Kate is passionate about education and regularly trains and mentors physiotherapists and junior staff in orthotic techniques and hand therapy principles.  She currently works as a Senior Hand Therapy Occupational Therapist and hand therapy trainer for a leading independent hospital group and supports patients recovering from hand injuries through a private rehabilitation provider.

Kate is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and is also a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists and of the British Association of Hand Therapists.
